Leaflet Distribution W6

The Private Postman logo

Introduction

W6 covers the areas of Hammersmith, Ravenscourt Park and Brackenbury Village. It neighbours on Shepherd’s Bush in the North, Fulham in the South, Chiswick in the West and West Kensington in the East.

Around 50% of the local population is aged between 18-44 years old. Approximately 35% of the households in the postcode are single person households.

W6 is a varied postcode when it comes to the kinds of properties and households that can be found here. There are areas made up exclusively of terraced homes, others including large council buildings, many commercial addresses and in parts, we can find a surprisingly high number of properties with gardens.

Around 70% of people in Hammersmith describe themselves as associate professionals, professionals, managers or directors.

Hammersmith

Hammersmith is very well connected with Central London via the Circle, Hammersmith and City, District and Piccadilly lines which run through the Hammersmith and Ravenscourt Park underground stations. The Goldhawk Road, Stamford Brook and Barons Court stations are also located right on the postcode border.

There is a number of bus lines connecting Hammersmith with Kensington, Fulham and Westminster amongst other parts of London. Hammersmith is also well connected to Heathrow airport.

With a high number of houses with gardens and other green areas it is a fantastic place to live while being ten minutes from the centre of London.

The southern part of Hammersmith around Charing Cross hospital is largely made up of classic Victorian style terraced houses. These have clearly accessible letterboxes and are easy to deliver to for a leaflet distributor.

The closer we move towards the centre of Hammersmith, the more we end up seeing large inaccessible blocks of flats, gated local authority housing and commercial addresses. This part of W6 is challenging for leaflet distribution and much of it should be excluded from most distribution systems aimed at delivering to residential addresses.

The situation changes again once we move north of Glenthorne Road. The streets here are mostly made up of terraced houses of various kinds and sizes. Very much reminiscent of the southern most tip of W6.

Areas and numbers of leaflets

Groups Area Quantity of leaflets
Group 1 – W6 Goldhawk Road 5,000
Group 2 – W6 Hammersmith 5,000
Total 10,000

Ravenscourt Park

West of Paddenswick Road we find Ravenscourt Park. The area surrounding this large green space includes a mix of deliverable and undeliverable addresses. Overall, the streets around Ravenscourt Park are worth considering for a leaflet distribution campaign targeting the general area.

However, it needs to be approach with care and identifying residential addresses and undeliverable commercial address before starting distribution is necessary.

Brackenbury Village

Brackenbury Village is located around the meeting point of Paddenswick Road and Glenthorne Road. It is a fairly unique part of W6 with a truly village like atmosphere and a community feel. Its a lovely residential area with many small shops, pubs and a number of good schools. Most of the households here are located in terraced houses again. Brackebury Village is one of the more desirable parts of West London to live.
