Leaflet Distribution NW9
Introduction
The NW9 postcode covers the areas of Colindale and Kingsbury. It is framed by Birchen Grove in the south, Fryent Way and Honeypot Lane in the west, Girton Avenue in the north and Grahame Park Way in the east. It is more or less split into thirds by Kingsbury Road and Colindeep Lane.
NW9 is a fairly large postcode and it includes some sizeable parks and green areas. Fryent Country Park, Grahame Park, Woodfield Park, Roe Green Park, West Hendon Playing Fields, Montrose Playing Fields, Colindale Park and the Brent Reservoir are all within the NW9 borders.
Both Kingsbury and Colindale are well connected with public transport. The Kingsbury Tube Station services the Western part of the postcode with access to the Jubilee line. Colindale Tube station in the North Eastern part of the postcode provides the locals with access to the Northern Line services. The Hendon Rail Station allows the locals to reach Central London very quickly or escape the capital by using Thameslink Services.
One of the important cultural landmarks here is the Royal Air Force Museum which attracts a considerable number of visitors every year. The Museum of Domestic Design and Architecture and the beautiful Brent Reservoir are both located here as well.
Even though NW9 is one of the larger London postcodes, the demographic breakdown is quite uniform.
Colindale
Colindale is an excellent area for leaflet distribution. It is quite unique in that large semi-detached houses are more common here than smaller terraced homes. The residential streets here are lined by them from both sides in surprising numbers.
The area around Colindeep Lane and south of Colindale station is mostly residential and easy to navigate.
As we move north-east towards Grahame Park Way from here, we run into more blocks of flats, new residential developments, some undeliverable addresses as well as areas that can still be effectively targeted with leaflet distribution. This part of Colindale leading into West Hendon requires a bit more attention when it comes to mapping and delivery.
The eastern part of Colindale has undergone quite a bit of development in the last few years. Overall, Colindale is a good area to look at when planning a leaflet distribution campaign focused on households in North West London.
Kingsbury
Kingsbury is very similar to Colindale in its character. Large numbers of semi-detached houses line most of the streets here. Girton Avenue and Birchen Grove being good examples from completely opposite ends of the postcode.
With that said, there are more terraced homes to be found in Kingsbury compared to Colindale. There are also not many newly built residential developments. The absolute majority of households here will be found in typical 20th century terraced and semi-detached houses.
Even some of the larger roads like Honeypot lane and Kingsbury Road have many deliverable residential addresses on them. Fryent Way is an exception as it runs through the lovely Fryent Country Park.
