Leaflet Distribution SW15

The Private Postman logo

Introduction

The SW15 postcode covers the area of Putney, Roehampton and Kingston Vale. It is framed by Putney Bridge Road in the north, West Hill and Kingston Road in the East and Priory Lane in the west. Roehampton Lane runs diagonally through SW15 and cuts the postcode in half.

Putney Heath, Putney Heath Cricket Ground, Putney Lower Common, Wandsworth Park and Roehampton Playing Fields provide some fantastic green spaces for the locals to enjoy. It also neighbours on some of the largest and most beautiful green spaces in South London.

Wimbledon Common and Richmond Park both are partly located in SW15 and are pretty much within walking distance for most of the residents of the postcode

Cricket, Golf and Tennis players are all very well catered for in SW15 as well, with the National Tennis Centre, Roehampton Golf Club and Putney Heath Cricket Ground all being located here.

Putney is well connected with the East Putney Underground Station providing access to the District Line. Putney and Barnes Rail Stations also allow the locals to take South Western Railway service outside of London.

Large number of the houses in SW15 have a garden attached to the property. Putney, Roehampton and Kingston Vale are all worth considering for any company providing services relating to the household or the garden.

Putney

Putney is surrounded by very affluent South London postcodes like Richmond and Wimbledon. It has, however, fairly young demographic compared to the rest of London.

Some 75% of households are either single occupancy or couples with children. There has also been a notable influx of young professionals working in the city and commuting on the District line.

Over time, Putney has still kept it’s historically characteristic feel. Since the construction of Putney Bridge almost no large industrial ships come through this area on the Thames. This has allowed for the local rowing community to use the UK’s largest river almost uninterrupted.

Much of Putney is made up of streets lined by terraced homes of different kinds. Putney Bridge Road and the surrounding area being a good example.

On the other hand there are some estates and inaccessible blocks of flats to be found here as well. The area next Putney Heath and parts of West Hill could work as examples.

Roehampton

As we mentioned above, Putney is largely made up of easily accessible terraced houses with the occasional block of flats. Roehampton, on the other hand, is slightly more complicated. In the southern most part of Roehampton above Kingston Road, you’ll find a large number of inaccessible addresses. These will be in blocks of flats or council estates. As such, this is not a great ground for leaflet distribution campaigns.

In contrast, the northern part of Roehampton around Priory Lane and Roehampton Lane has some 5,000 households in homes ranging from terraced houses to larger detached town houses. This is often an area that is included in campaigns targeting other neighbouring parts of South London as it is similar in character to these. The University of Roehampton can also be found in this part of SW15.

Kingston Vale

Kingston Vale is the smallest of the three main parts of SW15. It still contains a couple thousand households mostly in large detached or semi-detached homes. Kingston Vale is also a home to Kingston University London. There are many places in Kingston Vale that use the name of Robin Hood as it is close to the Robin Hood Gate to Richmond Park.
