How to decide on where to deliver leaflets in London part 2

In our previous blog we discussed various types of addresses one can deliver leaflets to. We focused specifically on delivering to businesses and local authority and council housing. These have historically been and still remain a minority in the world of leaflet distribution.

Today we will discuss the core of any leaflet distribution business and most campaigns. Privately owned residences. Let’s talk about what these are, how your campaign should take advantage of delivering to these and how to decide on where to deliver leaflets in London.

Door to door

Delivering your leaflets to privately owned residences in London is also called door to door distribution.

This is in contrast to hand to hand distribution which is a service we tend to actively discourage at The Private Postman.

Privately owned residences are the backbone of any leaflet distribution business in London and most campaign that take place also.

The reasons for this are simple.

Reliability of delivery

There addresses are reliably deliverable. As they tend to be located in a single building in case of a detached or a semi-detached house there tends to be very little difficulty in accessing the letterbox. It should be accessible from the street.

Even if the house we are delivering to has been separated into individual flats the letterboxes for these will be easy to access and there will rarely be more than 3-5 households within a single house.

Being able to deliver reliably helps with planning. We can actually tell our clients exactly how many leaflets they need to print. Completely minimising waste and unnecessarily printed flyers.

Mapping

As these households are easily and reliably accessible we can build a mapping system that covers them in a way that allows for repeatable campaigns.

We tend to look at each individual postcode and break it down into groups of approximately 5000 households. These groups tend to be demographically consistent which allows for further targeting beyond just geographic areas.

Having a mapping system that is accurate and allows for repeatable campaign gives our clients a great amount of control over the selection of areas for delivery. The is how we can help our clients to know how to decide on where to deliver leaflets in London.

Tracking

We can easily track all deliveries we make within this leaflet distribution service. We run a GPS tracking system that gives us high definition files showing each individual distributor walking up to each house to deliver your leaflets.

On top of this we have supervisors in the field physically checking deliveries and due to the fact that these letterboxes are accessible we can do a good job of this.

While we do this we also give our clients live tracking updates telling them exactly where their leaflets are being delivered in real time. This gives them the ability to come see their leaflets being delivered unannounced.
