What are some of the things that affect Response Rates

There is no ’one size fits all’ formula for calculating response rates. No company on earth can guarantee you a certain percentage every time you advertise. If they could, we would all be millionaires, simply putting £100 in the machine and out pops £120! Companies who advertise percentages are not telling you the fact

Response rates depend on a multitude of factors which include

1.The leaflet design – This, more than any other factor, is critical. Only TPP offers an artwork pdf check before you go to print. We will give you our expert opinion on what’s hot and what’s not.

2.How much local competition you have – for your product/service in the area you are leafleting.

3.What time of year you are leafleting – You should avoid Christmas (unless it’s a specific Christmas related product or event) and major public holidays. specific Christmas related product or event) and major public holidays.

4.The quality of the delivery – It’s not just about delivery to every single house. Just as vital are the many ‘details of the delivery’ such as: A. Was your leaflet folded or rolled up while being delivered? B. Was it delivered in the rain? C. Were the correct amount of leaflets delivered for a 2 or 3 bell house? All these factors will dramatically affect response rates. These are the details only TPP looks after for you.

5. How many times you have delivered in the same area – Our major experienced clients expect to run leaflet drops on clients expect to run leaflet drops on new ground at least TWICE before they expect to see good results, as they know it takes time and repetition in the same location.

6. This means: Do not expect to go into meltdown on your first leaflet drop if you have never dropped in the area before, or it was over one year ago since your first drop in the area. It’s simply unrealistic to expect great results on your initial outing, unless you are handing out £50 notes! This is why TPP always recommends you do a double or treble leaflet drop as part of your strategy, not just a single drop.

 7. Solo or Shared? The fact is that there is no difference in response rates whatsoever, whether it’s a solo delivery or if it’s shared with 2 other non-competing leaflets. Every house has an empty doormat at 7am because it was cleared the night before. When the householder comes home at 6pm its impossible to detect what has been delivered on its own or with any other leaflet. So it makes absolutely no difference in response rates, only in the price of delivery! TPP offers shared delivery with a maximum of two other non-competing leaflets for £40 + vat per 1,000 leaflets.
