Introduction
W14 covers the area of West Kensington and Holland Park. It neighbours on Shepherd’s Bush in the North, Hammersmith in the West, Fulham in the South and Kensington in the East.
It is one of the older postcodes in London when it comes to demographics. Only about 30% of the local residents are below 30 years of age. Around 75% of residents class themselves as associate professionals, professionals, managers or directors.
As a result the individual and households income in this are is considerably above the London average.
As such there are many famous residents past and presents worth mentioning. David Beckham, Robbie Williams and Michael Winner to name a few.
W14 is not a very green postcode.
The locals do have access to Holland Park in the North-Eastern corner of W14 but other than that there are only a few smaller parks.
Brook Green, Normand Park and the Queen’s Club are basically the only green areas outside of Holland Park within the borders of W14. The one redeeming fact here is the fact that Hyde Park is within reasonable distance both by foot or one or two tube or bus stops.
W14 is located very much close to the centre of London. It however is a surprisingly quiet and calm postcode considering it’s location.
It is not a tourist centre since most visitors to London tend to focus their time on Notting Hill or even more central areas.
Thanks to it’s location it is incredibly well connected via public transport. The Overground and Rail services from Kensington Station, District and Piccadilly Lines from West Kensington and Baron’s Court stations or the Central line from Shepherd’s Bush are very easily reachable and thanks to these connections to central London as well as other places outside of London are easily accessible. Thanks to this many business people that travel internationally tend to be attracted to W14.

There are many cultural landmarks to admire in W14.
Amongst them are Leighton House Museum, The London Design Museum or the famous Olympia exhibition centre.
The North part of W14 East of Holland Road includes many households and streets neighbouring Holland Park. Some of the larger houses in W14 can be found here.
They tend to be easily accessible for leaflet distribution with clearly marked letterboxes and as such are included in our distribution system.
When we move West of Holland Road the scenery changes slightly. The density of population goes up a little but most of the streets are lined with typical London Victorian and Georgian terraced homes.
Deliveries in W14
There are occasional pockets of larger apartment buildings that are challenging to access.
These we approach on individual basis and we exclude the ones that are consistently not deliverable from our numbers in order to run the most cost-effective and accurate service possible.
When we move South towards the West Kensington station we find two types of properties. Either flats in larger buildings or terraced home that are generally split into multiple flats.
These are still easy to access and the percentage of successful deliveries is very high in this area. Some local authority buildings and estates can be found and they are excluded from our system same as all the local businesses.
Due to the location of W14 and the level of affluence in the area we do not work with any leaflet distributors that live locally.
The Private Postmen
To counteract this we make sure to train all the Private Postmen and Women that will be delivering here well and prepare them for the situation on the ground within W14. Our distributors receive the maps of their target areas enough in advance every week to give them a chance to study the area they will be heading into. With this they also receive proper training if the area requires it. If the density of larger apartment buildings is higher the distributors will get proper training to understand how to effectively negotiate access wherever possible.
If the area is very physically challenging because of the number of stairs or the geographic makeup we make sure to not overload them with leaflets, run smaller groups and warn each distributor upfront.
We also make sure that our Private Postmen do not have to travel too far in order to run their deliveries each week. If we can’t get them delivering in their local area we at least look for conveniently located areas with good public transport links to accommodate the smoothest commute possible.
All of this adds up to a situation where the workers can focus on making sure that all your leaflets are delivered in the best shape possible, no houses are skipped and that every household in a selected area receives your leaflets. Happy workforce deliveries great results.
Any company looking to deliver leaflets in W14 will need a very thorough mapping system clearly outlining which areas are suitable for leaflet distribution and which are not.
We also make sure to group the areas that are good for leaflet distribution into cohesive units that target similar demographics and properties.
