What is the character of SW7

The SW7 postcode covers the areas of South Kensington and Knightsbridge. It neighbours on Earls Court in the West, Chelsea in the South and Belgravia in the East. It is one of the most affluent areas in London.

SW7 is also a surprisingly young postcode when it comes to demographics. Just under 70% of the local population is 44 and younger with 75% of the households in SW7 being one person households or couples without children.

This is not to overlook the sizeable minority of older affluent couples living in SW7.

South Kensington has a high proportion of people describing themselves as associate professionals, professionals, managers or directors and as such it has more than double the average income compared to London as a whole.

South Kensington

South Kensington spans from Gloucester Road in the East to Exhibition Road in the West. It is filled with important cultural institutions like the Natural History Museum, the Science Museum, Royal Albert Hall, Royal College of music or Imperial College.

Thanks to it’s architecture and layout of SW7 most households here are easily accessible and as such are a good target for leaflet distribution.

Surprisingly, even on some of the largest streets in the area like Queen’s Gate, Gloucester Road or Exhibition road, there are still residential addresses with accessible letterboxes.

Knightsbridge

Knightsbridge on the other hand offers some challenges mostly around the high street but outside of the immediate area around Brompton road most homes can be accessed and delivered to relatively easily.

Even though there are many large houses in Knightsbridge, in comparison to South Kensigton you’ll be able to find more smaller residences in terraced houses and coach houses hidden away in little mewses here.

Earl’s Court and Chelsea

Earl’s Courts and Chelsea are not within the borders of SW7 but they are areas that we often recommend to include in distributions targeting this part of London. Not only do they neighbour on SW7, they also share the same demographics and types of distribution.

SW7 is one of the most historic and culturally important parts of London. The properties and their letterboxes here are still surprisingly accessible considering it’s location and as such it absolutely perfect for leaflet distribution.
